Earth | Tree | Sky – Orbs

A collection of spheres arranged in a virtual metaverse gallery, allowing visitors to move in and out of the spheres. Each sphere displays a single 8k 360-degree frame from the Earth|Tree|Sky animation.

Earth|Tree|Sky is a 6:15 minute animation created for immersive dome display and VR, which has been screened in dome film festivals around the world. It was also rendered for 360 VR display. Where a dome display reveals only the upper half of a sphere, a 360 VR display shows the entire sphere, above and below.

Using the 360 VR spherical frames I created a collection of 14 orbs throughout the 6:15 minute sequence of the animation. They were minted as an NFT collection on the objkt platform.

A small number of the orbs were arranged in a couple of metaverse gallery exhibitions. Visitors are able to move around the gallery space and step inside the orbs to see the 360 image entirely surrounding them.
