I am enjoying using Augmented Reality (AR) as another mechanism to display animation. It is an interesting way for visitors to interact with an art show in a whole new way. I think it engages audiences of all generations with an element of discovery and surprise!
I was honored to collaborate with Michael Pierre Price for his art exhibit which has an Augmented Reality component. The show, “Call Me Ishmael”, consisted of his abstract artworks, for which I created the 9 augmented reality animations.
The animations are viewed in the gallery on mobile devices using the ARloopa augmented reality app. When the app recognizes the artwork image, the animation plays on the phone.
